The Vineyards of the Constantia Valley
The Constantia valley is the birth place of wine making in South Africa, and boasts eight world class vineyards.
In 1685, the then Governor of the Cape, Simon Van Der Stel planted vines at Groot Constantia, and wine has been produced here ever since, that’s 325 years! For more information on the award winning wines of the area try the John Platter's On-line Wine Guide. Or click on the links of the individual wine farms.
All wine farms in the area are minutes from Dongola Guest house, so there is no need to travel afar when you can taste terrior in sight of Table Mountain.
